Love at first sight, at the very first glance,
Introduced by a friend, we were both in a trance
You offered your hand, I gave a shy smile,
Heart pumping heavily, haven't felt that in awhile.
With different partners, we arrived at the dance,
Both of us hoping, we'll see each other by chance,
And when we did, the sparks just flew
Our partners noticed, they immediately knew.
We danced with our partners when they played the first song,
Had eyes only for each other, as if that's where we belong,
Peeking, secretly wishing we could dance with one another,
We feel, but without words, we became secret lovers.
We went as two pairs, but our hearts bond as one,
Unspoken understanding, we can't fool anyone,
Eventually our partners, stepped away for awhile,
Gave us our moment, as though they were on exile.
I remember that evening, we were under the moon,
Fighting my emotions, preventing to swoon,
Finally we talked, we laughed and we teased,
Holding on to each memory, hoping that moment, we could freeze.
Switching partners the rest of the night,
We both felt bliss, our future so bright,
Our partners were awesome, they were quite good sports,
Leaving us be, as they moved to the next court.
I felt a little guilty, our partners, we ditched,
Although they willingly approved of the sudden switch,
But somehow it felt wrong, though they weren't quite quibbling,
Knowing for a fact, that the new partners were actual siblings.
Magnetized, mesmerized, our chemistry was obvious,
Fireworks flying everywhere, even for the oblivious,
Thanking the stars, for what we got from that dance,
A budding, solid friendship, and the start of an epic romance.
