Jennifer, Jennifer, what is in a name?

Somehow it feels like a weird little game,

I see your name wherever I go,

Wherever I turn, Jennifer it shows!

Consecutive nights, I dream of all the Jennifers I know,

Turning the magazines pages, famous Jennifers all in a row,

Clicking the remote, Jennifer names and people show,

Scratching my head in wonder, puzzling questions in tow.

Getting my coffee, I mistakenly took a cup with that name,

When I had my nails done, Jennifer was the lady who came.

At the dental clinic, a lady named Jennifer assisted me,

In search of a lipstick, Jennifer tag is what I see.

One night I had a dream of a girl from my gym,

She was in the lockers looking oh so slim,

In the dream, we had a little chit chat,

She introduced herself as she took off her hat.

Jennifer was her name, in my dream it was so clear,

In the depths of my subconscious, her name just adhered.

The dream ended as soon as she said her name,

And from then on, it became a mind-boggling game.

As soon as I woke up, I remembered the dream,

So, I made up a plan to uncover this theme.

Thinking I would meet her, and find out for real,

The meaning of Jennifer, the mystery I must peel.

It took a few days before she showed at the gym,

Both curiosity and excitement reaching the brim.

Just like in the dream, I found us both in the lockers,

So, I gently approached her without looking like a stalker.

.

I took a leap of faith, and just asked her the question,

"Is your name Jennifer?" with a serious expression.

But when she said no, my heart sank in confusion,

Thinking my dream might be a complete delusion.

She saw my strange reaction and said "My name is Jenni",

Then the smile on my face lit up my heart that felt heavy.

She looked at me with a blank face, so I had to explain,

Retold the whole dream not caring if she thought it insane.

To my surprise she laughed and found it quite astounding,

But after that incident, our friendship started blossoming.

It took a while before she made an honest confession,

Jennifer is her legal name but admitted it with hesitation.

Shocked yet relieved that my dream was accurate,

Jennifer is a message I should no longer fixate.

A special name that meant something, it must be a sign,

But to unravel the true mystery, I choose to wait for the Divine.

Stopping my obsession; took my curiosity with a smile,

Learned to pause all hypothesis I have gathered and compiled.

Jennifer could be anything, an angel or a spirit guide,

Synchronicities, I embrace; mystic experience, I ride.
