Illusion

Life is but an illusion, like a little theatrical play,
With people as actors, with different roles we portray.
Unbeknownst to us all, that we too, are the scriptwriters,
Revising our stories, or changing our music, as songwriters.
We are the stage directors, for we supervise our own lives,
Choosing between dualities, opting how exactly to survive.
For when life is filled with roses, we raise our glasses to cheer,
To celebrate, to toast for each accomplishment we adhere.
Alas, we feel the prickly thorns as we hold our beautiful rose,
Powerless to break away, real emotions we can barely disclose.
Feeling the pierce from within, as the thorn cuts through our skin,
Unable to admit our feelings, unsure where to exactly begin.
Sacrificing for love, we embrace every pain,
For all we truly wanted, inner peace we attain.
Taking words in one ear, to let them out the other,
Choosing to filter, if we must react or even bother.
In playing our cards the best way we know how,
Trusting God’s voice, we must heed, we must allow.
For God, our Creator, is the One who gives us power,
To climb mountains, to cross seas, to escape prison towers.
Overcoming the hopelessness, frustrations, and distress,
No amount of trials nor perplexity will keep us oppressed.
Unable to put the puzzle pieces, to complete the whole picture,
Still, we surrender to the Lord, as we read the Holy Scriptures.
In the end, we dare believe that life indeed is an illusion,
But all the chaos surrounding us need not be our conclusion.
All the tears that we shed, the sleepless nights we go through,
Finding solutions for each problem, all lined up in a queue.
God Almighty is all we need; most powerful than we think
Trusting, unifying in His Will and in God, we’ll be in sync.
