The fear is so real, we're fighting a global war
Spread of deadly virus from near and afar
Forced to stay home, keep a six-feet distance
Economy, shut down, leaving us in a trance
What's our next move? How do we cope?
When questions, left unanswered can't give us much hope
Anxiousness, fear, depression and anger
Mixed emotions rolling towards imminent danger
We fear because we love, we fear because we care
We fear for the future, Can we dream? Can we dare?
Feeling claustrophobic in this tight, closed off tunnel
Could hardly breathe, with little air, as if passing through a funnel
Little eyes, concerned and unsure
Look up to us, as if we know the cure
They don't understand, we don't always have the answers
Still they look at us with so much faith, as if nothing else matters
Verbal words or utter silence, does it really matter much?
For children, they sense us, they never fail to watch
The impact we make to such impressionable souls
Deep responsibilities, stay true to our roles
Remind each other of the impact we make
To little children, who look up to us, there's so much at stake
Guidance and stability, they obviously seek
Safety and security, for hearts, tender and meek
Shall we remind ourselves to put things in perspective
For little ones, they follow us, they go along with our objectives
Remember the impact we have, and we hold
Guiding our littles ones, together, we mold
Burn the fire of passion, not of anger, not of fear
Hold on to the faith, hold tight, my dear
For this too shall pass, no matter what they say
God is always with us, every step of the way.
